Official Notice of New Legislation
Effective March 1, 2013, House Bill 386 removes the sales tax and the annual ad valorem tax on newly purchased vehicles; it replaces these taxes with a new title tax of 6.5% in 2013, 6.75% in 2014, and 7.0% in 2015.

Homestead Application Period Update:
HB 92 was signed into law by the Governor on April 1, 2025. This bill allows Homestead Applications to be submitted during the 45-day appeal period that begins when Assessment Notices are mailed. If you missed the original deadline, you may apply during this period by visiting the Assessor’s Office. Please bring a valid ID showing your current address.
