Heard County Roadwork Update -
West Ferry Road Project
West Ferry Road Project
October 17, 2025
The Heard County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with Georgia Power, held a follow-up meeting on October 13, 2025, to discuss progress on the West Ferry Road project. Georgia Power is working closely and efficiently with the County to ensure the safety and well-being of the community throughout this process.
Plans for the West Ferry Road improvements are moving forward with an anticipated start date of November 1, 2025, and an estimated completion time of approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
Following the completion of this project, work on Hollingsworth Ferry Road is scheduled to begin immediately. Once the Geotechnical Report is finalized, the County will proceed with the same bidding process used for West Ferry Road and will move forward as quickly as possible to maintain safety standards.
Citizens are kindly asked to be mindful of speed and exercise caution while traveling through construction zones. Your patience and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated.
