Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field is preferred. Certification in code enforcement is beneficial. Preference will be given to applicants who are already a state mandated officer.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

Key Responsibilities:

Heard County is seeking a motivated Code Enforcement Officer to enforce property maintenance, nuisance, and zoning codes. This role involves field inspections, documenting violations, issuing citations, preparing reports, and working closely with court personnel and other county departments.

Work Environment:

Primarily field based with exposure to hazardous or unsafe conditions; PPE may be required.
